We are strong believers in innovation through technology and research. In our research center situated in the heart of the Linz Institute of Technology (LIT) as well as in our Vienna and Hagenberg offices, engineers and researchers collaborate to build next generation technologies that help companies to run better, safer and more innovative software. Generative AI is one of the four research divisions of the lab.

Research Field

• Large language models, and generative AI-based applications in the software intelligence domain: Data processing, training, evaluation
• Agentic AI and other systems based on generative AI (e.g., RAG)
• Components used with generative AI, like vector databases and embeddings
• (Pre-)processing of large data volumes like logs and downstream AI-based analysis
  
  

Your role

• Conduct research in the field of Generative AI
• Enhance current product capabilities with innovative customer value, using research results that are also guaranteed to scale to large enterprise environments.
• Bridge academic research and commercial technology development: Collaborate with our development teams and other internal and external stakeholders
• Mentor PhD and master students and ensure direction is in line with research strategy
• Contribute to the global research community - publish and disseminate research findings in journals and speak at conferences
• Actively take part in scientific and industrial cooperation projects

What will help you succeed

• PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a related quantitative field
• Track record of independent research in topics related to the research field, reflected also in publications and conference contributions
• Experience in implementing LLM-based systems
• Strong software engineering background, including leading ML frameworks
• Deep understanding of latest developments in generative AI
• Excellent English skills (oral and written)

Compensation Data

• We offer attractive compensation packages and stock purchase options with numerous benefits and advantages.    
• Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is € 65,000 gross per year based on full-time employment. We offer a higher salary in line with qualifications and experience.
